WHO WE ARE Labor and Employment Relations Association is the new name of the former Industrial Relations Research Association (IRRA). The name change represents a recognition on the part of the National organization that "employment" includes all workers along with the organizations by which they are employed. It is a shift in focus to enhance traditional labor management issues to also co-include those who work in non-union, pre-union and post-union settings. While the development of Collective Bargaining Agreements through negotiations continues to be a highly productive method of conducting terms and conditions of the workplace, the issues facing 100,000 million non-union employees and worksites now may receive similar attention from LERA. The academic focus of the old IRRA continues to dominate LERA's posture and publications. The organization has carved out an immense mission for itself and the entire employment field.
